First two games - scored more than hundred

The scene was set for a good 3rd Division East clash against a reasonably strong Nørrebro side, which was in fact their second eleven playing a lague higher.

Nørrebro batted first on a fast outfield and got off to a good start. They amassed a good total of 219 for 6 in this 25 over match, but it was largely due to slogging all through their order.

There was not much elegance about their innings, but their score left the home side with a task on their hands. Navesh was dangerous with his spin bowling and kept the visitors working.

Svanholm bowling: Khizar Javaid 2 for 35, Navesh Wiejeratne 3 for 30 and Asim Khan 1 for 33. 32 extras giving Svanholm 220 to aim at.

Svanholm needed 8.8 runs an over and got off to a good start with openers Graham Brewster and Navesh putting on a quick opening stand of 37 before Brewster fell to a catch square (again!). The author does enjoy opening with Navesh Wijeyratne, whom we hope (maybe has now) soon qualifies for the Danish team. Again, every shot in the book by this man, a joy to watch. In came Bilal Khan and with his hard hitting and timing, put on a good stand, enabling the opener to complete a fine 50.

Bilal later completed his 50 also, but the task was out of reach for the home side. It was Bilals second fifty in two games. It was the first two games, he has played ever. Before that only soft ball cricet in Enghave Park. That is fantastic

Svanholm batting:

Brewster ct 18, Navesh ct 51, Imran ct 1, Bilal ct 51, Azhar run out 13, Khiza b 3, Asam b 10, Wajid not out 11, Shahbaz 6, extras 6. Total 170 for 8 off 25 overs.

Svanholm lost by 49 runs, but what a good game of cricket.
