Match report Svanholm III vs TaastrupMandag d. 13. juni 2011 kl. 20:34 af Henrik Pfaff |
Taastrup won the toss in this 3rd Division East battle and elected to bat with a fast outfield. Runs were quickly on the board. Svanholm needed a breakthrough but unfortunately two early chances went down. The openers continued to build up the score with Munib getting 83. (He will certainly gloat about his knock in the British Airways office tomorrow). With Bilal Shah (43), the visitors reached 206 for 8 from their 25 overs. Bowling: Bobby Malik 2-36, Shabaz Shazad 2-40 and a fine spell by Usman Akram 4-31. All in all, 5 catches dropped and a missed run out at the end of the visitor´s innings. So with the home side needing 8.24 an over, they set about their task with a good game plan. But unfortunately tight bowling by Taastrup led to 3 wickets falling reasonably quickly. Usman Akram (20) and Mads Henriksen (24) put on a good partnership to bring the total up, and despite Sonick Thacker not out 17 at the end of the 3rds´s innings, it was not to be. Svanholm 136-9 off 25 overs. “The Old Fiddle Plays On”………catches win matches. Graham Brewster |
